Star Chart

Following the dimly lit path, we made our way to the end of the hall and entered a large chamber occupied by an enormous three-dimensional globe. The globe started rotating as we entered the chamber and displayed a vast star system I was completely unfamiliar with.

“This is amazing!” I said.

“I’m pretty sure this isn’t in our neighborhood,” said RB. “Might even be in another galaxy far, far away.”

“Well, wherever it is, the technology of this civilization is far beyond anything we have on earth,” I said.

“I wonder if they eat metal?” RB asked.

“What’s with the metal-eating aliens?” I exclaimed.

We circled the star chart trying to find a vantage point we might recognize.

RB reached out to touch the surface and as he did a bright green line started from the point where he touched it to another star system deep inside the globe.

He turned to me and started to say,”E.T. Phone…” but I put my hand up sharply and he stopped mid sentence.

“Remember that screwdriver?” I snarled.

That’s when things got really interesting.
